Characteristics and tasting advice for the 10 Years Old The Jazz Crescendo Natural Cask Strength by Clynelish
Tasting
Nose
The first notes are very lightly waxy, then evolve toward mineral, maritime aromas with hints of salt crystals. In the background, a subtly woody base begins to emerge. The nose also reveals juicy fruits such as pears in syrup, pineapple, apricot, and honeydew melon, alongside creamy vanilla and citrus notes like orange and lemon.
Palate
The palate unveils a robust yet sweet profile with dominant caramel notes and a slight salinity. Growing touches of pepper gradually emerge, accompanied by wood, ginger, and sweet fruits such as pineapple and bananas. The finish is long, dry, and spicy, with a trace of dried coconut, marked by notes of ground pepper, sea salt, and vanilla, complemented by a mineral touch.

A fresh, full-bodied Highlands whisky
Clynelish, an essential Scottish distillery
Founded in 1819 in the village of Brora, Clynelish is a Northern Highlands distillery established on Scotland’s east coast. Owned by Diageo since the acquisition by DCL in 1912, Clynelish underwent a decisive modernization in 1967 with the construction of a new distillery equipped with six stills. The former site, renamed Brora in 1969, then produced a heavily peated Islay-style malt before closing in 1983. This distinctive duality gives Clynelish a unique status: on the one hand, a malt renowned for premium blends; on the other, Brora, which became a cult whisky among collectors and was recently reopened in 2024.
A spirit embodying the raw, authentic expression of a coastal Highlands whisky
Bottled at 57.5%, this single malt reveals the full power of Clynelish’s maritime character, with its highly distinctive saline and mineral notes. Exclusive aging in first-fill American oak casks adds an indulgent dimension with aromas of caramel and vanilla, while preserving the distillery’s coastal identity. This Scotch whisky celebrates the balance between strength and finesse, offering an intense, enveloping tasting experience.
