Description
Characteristics and tasting notes of the Bourgogne Chardonnay 2023 Régis Bouvier
Tasting notes
Colour
The colour reveals a pale golden-yellow hue, enhanced by subtle green tints characteristic of its youth.
Nose
Lively and particularly expressive, the nose exudes luscious aromas of ripe white-fleshed fruit, such as peach and pear. The whole is delicately underscored by citrus notes and subtle floral touches.
Palate
The palate charms with its perfectly balanced structure. It combines lovely acidity, ensuring great freshness, with a generous roundness and a minerality typical of its terroir of origin.
Food and wine pairing
This white wine pairs wonderfully with steamed white fish, trout with beurre blanc or delicate shellfish such as langoustines. It also pairs brilliantly with white meats, creamy poultry dishes, Asian cuisine such as sushi, or regional goat cheeses.
Service and storage
For optimal enjoyment, this Bourgogne Chardonnay 2023 should be served at a temperature between 12 and 14°C, ideally after a light decanting of 15 to 30 minutes. Ready to enjoy now, this wine will reach its peak between 2027 and 2029, and can be kept until around 2031 in a cool cellar away from light.
Other characteristics
This vin de France stands out with its dry white wine profile.
The authentic expression of a white Burgundy by Régis Bouvier
The estate
Representing the fifth generation of a family of winegrowers, Régis Bouvier officially founded his estate in 1981 in Marsannay-la-Côte, the true gateway to the Côte de Nuits in Burgundy. Starting with just two hectares, the current owner has developed his estate with patience and rigour. Today, the estate spans multiple plots spread across prestigious villages. Recognised for its environmentally respectful approach and the consistent quality of its cuvées, Régis Bouvier brilliantly illustrates the qualitative revival of its terroir.
The vineyard
The vines destined for this Burgundy wine flourish on quality terroirs of the region. The estate favours sustainable farming practices, incorporating traditional ploughing, the use of natural compost and green harvesting. Careful leaf thinning ensures optimal sun exposure and even ripening of the berries, which are harvested exclusively by hand with rigorous sorting to retain only the finest fruit.
The vintage
2023 stands out as a remarkable year for the region's white wines. Despite sometimes irregular summer weather, marked by wet spells, the conditions at the end of the growing cycle allowed for perfect ripeness to be reached. The harvested grapes showed impeccable health, offering an ideal balance between aromatic richness and freshness.
Winemaking and aging
The creation of the Bourgogne Chardonnay 2023 relies on gentle and precise methods. Fermentation takes place in oak barrels at low temperature to preserve the delicacy of the fruity aromas. This process is accompanied by regular lees stirring, a technique that gives the wine additional roundness and a lovely complexity.
