The elegance and intensity of a white wine from Burgundy

The property

Established in Puligny-Montrachet since 1635, the Domaine Olivier Leflaive has perpetuated the tradition of great Burgundy wines by offering one of the most beautiful expressions of chardonnay in the world. At the head of a must-see estate in Burgundy, Olivier Leflaive has established himself as an emblematic figure of the Côte de Beaune. Patiently built up, Olivier Leflaive's vineyard now extends over 17 hectares of vines located on the greatest terroirs of Burgundy.

The vineyard

The "Abbaye de Morgeot" Domaine is a Chassagne-Montrachet 1er cru wine made from two parcels of the estate. Covering an area of 10.7 ha, this terroir with vines averaging 31 years old is located between 230 and 250 meters altitude on clay-limestone soils.

The vintage

The year 2022 is marked by higher than average seasonal temperatures, episodes of frost in early April and a particularly sunny summer.

Vinification and ageing

Manual harvest before vinification in whole bunches. Static settling for 24h.  Alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in oak barrels (of which 25% new) before an ageing of 18 months (including 6 months of mass assembly). Ageing of 16 months (including 4 months in mass) in barrels (of which 25% new).
