A fresh and expressive Italian wine from Veneto
The estate
Masi, a historic wine house in Valpolicella, Veneto, remains family-owned to this day. The estate is structured around historic sites in the Valpolicella area. A pioneer of innovation, Masi has mastered appassimento and developed innovative winemaking techniques. The house is renowned for its iconic wines and expertise in crafting wines from the Venetian region.
The vineyard
Produced since 1964, Campofiorin comes from vineyards thriving in the Verona area. This terroir, set on gentle hills, is recognized for wines that authentically express the native grape varieties of Veneto.
Winemaking and aging
Campofiorin 2021 is made using a double fermentation technique. The first fermentation transforms the grapes’ sugars into alcohol, producing a classic red wine. During the second fermentation, a portion of partially dried grapes, using the appassimento technique, is added, enriching the wine with flavor and complexity. The result is a full-bodied, complex wine that reflects the terroir of Verona and Masi’s savoir-faire.
Grape varieties
The blend of Campofiorin is based on Valpolicella’s traditional grape varieties: Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara, each contributing its specific characteristics to this exceptional wine.
