The estate
Founded in 1971 by Aimé and Véronique Guibert, Mas de Daumas Gassac quickly established itself as an essential benchmark in Languedoc. Often nicknamed the "Lafite of Languedoc", this family estate of around fifty hectares is now run by Samuel Guibert, who took over the technical management in 1996. The property stands out for its determination to produce great cellaring wines outside the classic appellations, favouring freedom in grape variety choice and a deep respect for its natural environment.

The vineyard
Located in the heart of the upper Gassac valley, this Languedoc vineyard enjoys a microclimate that is particularly cool for the Mediterranean region. Surrounded by woodland and crossed by a stream, the vines flourish on a mosaic of complex soils combining limestone fragments, clay-limestone earth and glacial deposits. This singular terroir, farmed organically and sustainably, produces grapes of remarkable freshness.

Winemaking and ageing
The estate's philosophy is based on controlled extraction to preserve the finesse of the tannins and the freshness of the fruit. Ageing is carried out with great care, generally in barrels, to support the wine's structure without masking it.

This wine comes from an atypical blend dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, complemented by Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Pinot Noir and Tannat.
