A Highland Scotch single malt from Macallan, a tribute to New Orleans
Macallan, a benchmark of Highland Scotch whisky since 1824
Macallan is a single malt distiller located on the Easter Elchies estate in the Highlands, near Craigellachie, on the banks of the Spey. Its distillery was legally established in 1824 by Alexander Reid and is among the first licensed distilleries in Scotland. Its identity rests on "curiously small" stills and on oak casks seasoned with sherry, which give the whisky its natural colour. The new distillery, inaugurated in 2018, was designed by Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners. Blending into the landscape, it is topped with a living roof. Macallan now belongs to the Edrington group, which took control in 1999 of Highland Distillers, then owner of the brand.
A Night On Earth The Finale: a limited-edition single malt whisky, a tribute to New Orleans
A Night On Earth The Finale is a single malt Scotch whisky with no age statement. It belongs to Macallan's A Night on Earth series, dedicated to New Year traditions around the world. This finale celebrates the music, culture, gastronomy and festive spirit of New Orleans.
This single malt was crafted by Macallan's whiskymakers, who selected and balanced sherry-seasoned American and European oak casks. American oak is generally associated with notes of fresh fruit and vanilla, while European oak, richer in tannins, tends to bring dried fruit and gentle spice.
