The Elegance and Minerality of a Great White Wine from Meursault

The Estate

Officially founded in 1797, the Maison Louis Latour is an emblematic institution of Burgundy in France. Historically based in Aloxe-Corton, this family estate oversees an exceptional vineyard of nearly 50 hectares. Renowned worldwide for its excellence and respect for tradition, the estate has its own cooperage and benefits from an environmental certification. Today, Florent Latour leads the house, joined by Eléonore Latour, embodying the twelfth generation committed to upholding the independence and values of this essential producer.

The Vineyard

The grapes that give rise to this Meursault come from vines averaging 25 years old, cultivated with controlled yields. The terroir is distinguished by very stony clay-limestone soils, resting on marl and schist. Ideally exposed to the south and east at an altitude of around 260 metres, these plots give the grapes exceptional precision and minerality.

The Vintage

The year 2024 marks the return of a harvest combining generosity and high quality, offering true relief after several climatically challenging years. Mild weather conditions favoured optimal ripening of the grapes while preserving a lovely natural acidity, essential to the wine's balance.

Winemaking and Aging

The Meursault "Village" 2024 is vinified traditionally in oak barrels, including a full malolactic fermentation to bring roundness. The wine is then aged for 8 to 10 months in French oak barrels, 15% of which are new, made by the estate's own cooperage with a medium toast allowing for gentle aromatic extraction.

Grape Variety

100% Chardonnay.
