Robert Parker

William Kelley

Unwinding in the glass with a gently reductive bouquet of blackcurrants, wild berries, violets and mint, the 2021 La Sirène de Giscours is medium to full-bodied, supple and fleshy, with a suave attack, ripe tannins and a long, perfumed finish. This charming wine will offer a broad drinking window.

Decanter

Sultry red fruit on the nose, so beguiling and perfumed, really so sweet and bright. Smooth and satiny, you get the texture from the tannins but so svelte. The red cherry and blackcurrant fruit has density and chew with a deep and serious core. Lovely mid-palate, liquorice elements are sweet and chewy alongside eucalyptus with soft toasted spicy edges of clove, cinnamon and cedar. Lovely character with definition and precision, but this is a little closed and a bit serious and tight. The Haut-Médoc is just outshining this at the moment in terms of approachability, but this has the complexity and nuance to go the long haul.

James Suckling

A delicious and juicy red with blackberries, chocolate and cedar. Medium body, with iodine and spices. Fresh and crunchy. 60% cabernet sauvignon, 25% merlot and 15% cabernet franc. Drinkable now but needs a little air.

Vinous

Neal Martin

The 2021 La Sirène de Giscours offers light red cherry and strawberry on the nose—decent fruit intensity for a Deuxième Vin. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly chalky tannins, a mixture of red and black fruit and a subtle metallic note on the finish.

Medium-bodied, fresh, fruity and floral, with freshness, soft, elegant textures and plenty of sweet red fruits that carry from the mid-palate through to the finish. This is perfect for restaurants or early drinking pleasure while waiting for the Grand Vin to mature. Drink from 2024-2035.

Red and black fruits, cherries, currants, tobacco, and cedar pencil notes define the 2021 La Sirène De Giscours, a medium-bodied, charming, balanced, and delicious wine. It will keep for a decade, and it's one of those wines that will always put a smile on your face.

Lisa Perrotti-Brown

The 2021 La Sirene de Giscours is deep garnet-purple in color. Oaky overtones give way to a core of juicy plums and black raspberries with hints of tar and bay leaves. The medium-bodied palate is refreshing and soft, with just enough bright fruit and a savory finish.

Yves Beck

Cherry notes combined with rooty nuances and licorice wood ensure a multifaceted bouquet. Slightly creamy on the attack, the wine is tasty, juicy, and driven by compact, precise tannins. They provide a solid backbone and a classic touch to this reliable, ambitious Margaux wine.
