Faiveley : Mazis-Chambertin Grand cru Domaine 2011

Burgundy - Mazis-Chambertin - Red - 13° Faiveley Faiveley 2011 E126/11
  • Parker : 94
  • J. Robinson : 17

2011 Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru

Domaine Faiveley’s 2011 Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru was named after small houses called mazis which historically use to be located on the parcel.

The 2011 vintage displays a deep yet clear dark ruby hue. The already open nose exudes exotic fruits, such as papaya, along with violet. Superb balance on the palate, with both finesse and power. The sweetness and tannins combination leads to persistent finish with violet and blackberry syrup flavours.

Wine Advocate-Parker :
Tasted blind at the Burgundy 2011 horizontal tasting in Beaune. The Mazis-Chambertin 2011 from Faiveley has an exquisite bouquet that is initially understated, but opens with little encouragement to offer brambly red fruit, wild strawberry and red cherries, light mineral notes in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with sensual, lithe and ripe tannins, well-judged acidity and quite a dense, sour cherry finish that is very long in the mouth. This is sophisticated and intellectual - a great Mazis-Chambertin.;2017 - 2038
