Description
Characteristics and tasting notes of the "Cricri" 2023 Domaine Partagé - Gilles Berlioz
Tasting notes
Color
The color reveals a delicate pale straw hue, enhanced by green and pearly highlights.
Nose
Requiring gentle aeration to fully express itself, the nose reveals great subtlety. It exudes aromas of stewed fruit, peach pit, and citrus zest, intertwined with floral touches of narcissus and lemon balm. Mineral nuances of flint, along with discreet notes of bread crumb, caramel, and spices, enrich this complex bouquet with rustic accents.
Palate
The attack is lively and direct, carried by perfectly integrated acidity. The palate seduces with its silky texture, lightness, and decidedly airy profile. A finely chiseled minerality accompanies an elegant and persistent finish, free of any heaviness.
Food and wine pairing
This white wine pairs wonderfully with regional cooked-rind cheeses such as reblochon or tomme de Savoie. It also brilliantly accompanies freshwater fish such as trout, delicate seafood, as well as poultry or fish prepared in a creamy white sauce. At the end of a meal, it enhances light fruit tarts or refreshing citrus and white peach sorbets.
Service and storage
To fully appreciate the complexity of the "Cricri" 2023, it is recommended to serve it at a temperature between 10 and 12°C, ideally in a tulip-shaped glass. Gentle aeration in the glass is recommended before tasting. This wine can be enjoyed young to appreciate its vibrant freshness, but it will continue to evolve favorably in the cellar until around 2028.
The crystalline expression of a great white wine from Savoie
The estate
Founded in 1990, Domaine Partagé - Gilles Berlioz was born from the legacy of a tiny Savoyard plot. Originally a landscaper, Gilles Berlioz, now at the helm of the estate alongside his wife Christine, has transformed this small vineyard into an essential reference in Savoie. Renamed in 2016 to reflect values of solidarity and collective work, the estate cultivates excellence on a deliberately limited surface area. Practicing biodynamic farming, this independent family estate stands out for its deep respect for living things, giving rise to wines of remarkable purity and authenticity.
The vineyard
This Vin de Savoie Chignin comes from vines flourishing on the Crays and Chez Odette plots. Set against the southern slope of the Bauges massif, this mountain terroir benefits from optimal sunlight and a semi-continental alpine climate. The soils, composed of glacial moraines and clay-limestone, give the wine its mineral signature. The vineyard, with some slopes reaching 50%, is cultivated according to the demanding principles of biodynamic farming. Work is carried out by hand and with the help of draft horses, preserving the natural balance and biodiversity.
The vintage
The year 2023 was marked by unusual weather conditions, typical of the demanding climate of the Savoyard mountains, which helped shape the unique identity and freshness of this harvest.
Winemaking and aging
The grapes for the "Cricri" 2023 are harvested by hand in small crates to preserve the integrity of the berries. Vinification takes place naturally, with fermentation triggered spontaneously by indigenous yeasts. Aging takes place for about six months in ovoid fiberglass tanks. This particular geometry generates a natural convection movement, keeping the wine in regular contact with its fine lees without any mechanical intervention. Light filtration is carried out before bottling.
Grape variety
100% Jacquère.
