Domaine Henri Boillot : Volnay 1er cru "Les Chevrets" 2021

The 2021 Volnay Les Chevrets 1er Cru has a clean, fresh bouquet with sous-bois-tinged red berry fruit and fine definition, complemented by a light floral tincture. The palate is framed by brittle tannins, presenting a “bony” Volnay that lacks a bit of flesh. Sour cherry and some whole cluster are evident toward the finish, but it feels rather short overall. Some tasters found some TCA here…I was not sure. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.
