Tasting Notes

Color
The color reveals a pale yellow hue, elevated by delicate green highlights in its youth.

Nose
The bouquet reveals a lovely energy with aromas of Golden apple and subtle touches of mandarin. It also opens onto notes of citrus, pineapple and lime, accompanied by mineral nuances of flint and hints of butter.

Palate
The palate offers a remarkable balance between refreshing acidity and a delicately rounded texture. It stands out for its incisive minerality and dense structure, stretching into a persistent and vibrant finish.

Food and Wine Pairing

This white wine pairs perfectly with pan-seared or grilled premium shellfish, such as lobster or langoustine, as well as with delicate fish like turbot. It also pairs beautifully with poultry in white sauce, foie gras, or dishes featuring quality mushrooms such as chanterelles.

Service and Storage

For optimal enjoyment, this Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru 2024 should be served at a temperature between 12 and 14°C. With significant aging potential, this wine can be cellared and will be fully enjoyable through to around 2044.

The Estate

Founded in 1885 in Meursault, Domaine Henri Boillot stands out among the leading names of Burgundy. Developed over successive generations, the estate is now led by Henri Boillot and his son Guillaume, who took charge of white wine vinification in 2021. The property farms its vines according to the principles of sustainable viticulture, favoring limited yields and careful soil management. For certain cuvées, the house carefully selects grapes from partner winegrowers, thereby carrying on a family expertise centered on purity and heritage.

The Vineyard

To craft this Corton-Charlemagne, the estate sources grapes from trusted winegrowers who own plots within this appellation. The vines benefit from an oceanic climate with semi-continental influences, encouraging slow and optimal ripening of the berries while preserving a beautiful natural freshness.

The Vintage

2024 began with a mild, wet winter, followed by cold and dry conditions in April and May. The end of May, marked by rain and cool temperatures, disrupted flowering, leading to coulure and shatter. Summer then alternated between rainy spells and dry periods. Fortunately, the cooler conditions of late July and August allowed the berries to ripen gradually, preserving significant natural acidity.

Vinification and Aging

The grapes for this Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru 2024 are harvested by hand, as late as possible to achieve ideal phenolic ripeness. The whole clusters are then gently pressed. Vinification takes place without any stirring of the lees (bâtonnage) in order to preserve the wine's tension. Aging takes place in 350-liter barrels, using only a proportion of new barrels and once-used barrels, allowing the expression of the terroir to remain unmasked.
