Colour

This white wine pairs wonderfully with grilled fine fish such as sea bass, shellfish like lobster or langoustines with garlic butter, as well as poultry in a creamy mushroom sauce. It also pairs beautifully with mature cheeses such as Brie or Comté.

Service and Storage

To fully appreciate the Meursault Village "du Château" 2022, it is recommended to serve it at a temperature between 12 and 14°C. This wine can be enjoyed now and will continue to develop in the cellar until around 2027.

The Elegance and Precision of a White Meursault Wine

The Estate

The origins of Domaine du Château de Meursault date back to the 11th century, making it one of the historic estates of Burgundy. Located on the famous Côte de Beaune, the estate today spans 67 hectares across more than a hundred plots. Since its acquisition in 2012, the current owner, Olivier Halley, has brought new energy by modernising the infrastructure and steering the vineyard towards sustainable practices. The estate stands out for the diversity of its appellations and its strong environmental commitment.

The Vineyard

The vines used for this cuvée come from several plots located within the Meursault appellation. The terroir lies on hillsides with soils composed of marl and limestone, typical of the region. The vineyard management has been fully certified organic since 2022, also incorporating biodynamic principles and practices that promote local biodiversity.

Winemaking and Aging

After careful manual sorting and gentle pressing, the alcoholic fermentation of the Meursault Village "du Château" 2022 takes place in oak barrels over around ten days. Aging continues on the lees for 12 months in barrels (25% new oak and 75% one- to two-year-old barrels). During the first six months, fortnightly lees stirring (bâtonnage) is carried out to add complexity to the wine.
