A lemony and mineral Mâcon-Azé with floral accents

Domaine de la Garenne of the Domaines Devillard produces a Mâcon-Azé made exclusively from Chardonnay. The vines used to make this white Mâconnais were planted in 1986 on the highest parts of the Azé commune. The plots, with southeast exposure, are planted on a limestone vault and enjoy beautiful sunshine, which perfects the maturity of the Chardonnay.

The Domaine de la Garenne Mâcon-Azé 2016 of Domaines Devillard is a white Burgundy with a green-gold colour and beautiful shades of green. On the nose, a few citrus aromas like lime provide a tone of freshness to the wine, which evolves into delicate white flowers. Upon stirring, the wine reveals some touches of white peaches, surrounded by a beautiful mineral and stony sensation. The palate offers fruit, the sensation of biting into a plump grape, a mid-palate with volume, and a retro-olfaction of citrus confirming the complete aspect of the wine. A finish at the back of the palate with a dynamic impression, related to its great acid support and to the mineral tension already present in the nose. This is a Mâcon-Azé with plenty of class.
