Food and wine pairings
With its lovely tannic structure and great aromatic richness, this red wine pairs beautifully with roasted or grilled red meats, such as a fine rib of beef. It will also enhance slow-cooked stews, game dishes such as jugged hare, as well as mature cheeses.

The elegance and power of a great Pommard wine from Comte Armand
The estate
Located in the heart of Burgundy, the Comte Armand estate is a true benchmark. Its history officially began in 1828, when the Armand family acquired the famous Fief de Rancy in the centre of the village of Pommard. Remarkably, the estate has never been sold since and still belongs to the same family. Today, the estate spans around nine hectares and is technically managed by Paul Zinetti. A pioneer of organic and biodynamic viticulture in the region, the estate is renowned worldwide for wines that masterfully combine power and finesse.
The vineyard
The jewel of the estate, this 5.24-hectare walled vineyard is an exceptional monopole located in the centre of the village of Pommard. Surrounded by protective walls that regulate the microclimate, the vineyard benefits from an eastern exposure. The vines, ranging from 30 to over 80 years old, are planted at a high density of around 12,000 vines per hectare. They thrive on a geologically unique terroir, made up of iron-rich marl and limestone fragments resting on a bed of Argovian limestone. The estate places great importance on biodiversity, incorporating beehives and varied vegetation to preserve the natural balance of the ecosystem.
Winemaking and aging
To respect the diversity of the soils, the plot is divided into four distinct units, which are vinified separately. Extractions are carried out with great precision to preserve the elegance of the fruit. The final blend is then aged for around 22 months in French oak barrels, with new oak accounting for approximately 40%, using a light toast to preserve the purity of the aromas.
