Description

Clos l'Eglise 2009: a Pomerol Cru with a great personality

Located near the Chateau Clinet, the passion and work of Sylviane Garcin-Cathiard has established the Clos L'Eglise estate as one of the jewels of the Pomerol appellation.

The Clos l'Eglise 2009 vintage has a brilliant personality, a vintage recognised as exceptional in Bordeaux. Produced from 35-year-old vines planted in clay-gravel soils with iron deposits, it is a typical Pomerol blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc. The Clos l'Eglise 2009 was aged 18 months in new French oak barrels .

This Pomerol has a deep red colour with dense purple hues. On the nose, all the typicality of the Pomerol terroir expresses itself intensely with notes of red fruit and black cherry liqueur, punctuated with vanilla notes. It is a round and harmonious wine that has an ample mouthfeel. It is slightly full-bodied with fine and silky tannins. Warm and powerful, the Clos l'Eglise 2009 is certainly a wine that can be cellared for another 15 to 20 years.
