Description

An elegant red wine from Pomerol with a rich aromatic palette

The estate

Château Le Gay is located in the Pomerol appellation. Having belonged to the Robin sisters, renowned and respected throughout Pomerol for their know-how and their father's famous motto "Quality surpasses quantity", Château Le Gay is currently one of the most beautiful wine estates on the right bank of Bordeaux.

The vineyard

Château Le Gay comprises a 10.5-hectare single-block vineyard. The vines are 40 years old on average and are planted on the exceptional clay and gravel soils, for which the Pomerol appellation is well-known.

Vinification and ageing

During the manual harvest, the grapes are sorted both by bunch and by grape. Long maceration. Malolactic fermentation is carried out in barrels, as is the 18-month ageing period.

The blend

Château Le Gay 2012 is a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc.
