Vinum

Herb-spiced and expressive, subtle smoky notes; on the palate, soft, fine texture, delicate fruit, herbaceous finish. Charming.

Decanter

Fresh red fruits, crisp and crunchy with raspberry and cranberry. Juicy and fresh, really alive in the mouth, lovely soft tannins and bright acidity give a sense of life. Clean and lean, there’s no flesh here at all, straight and well defined with powdery tannins and some hints of oak around the edges. Still quite quiet but defined, there are tannins and structure but an easiness and cool classicism on show too.

Jeff Leve

Spicy, red berries, wet earth, and tobacco form the core here on the nose and on the medium-bodied palate. Forward, soft, and fresh, you can enjoy this on release and for up to a decade. The wine blends 55% Merlot with 45% Cabernet Sauvignon. Drink from 2026–2035. 88–90 pts.

Jane Anson

Jane Anson

Medium-intensity ruby red colour, a shade lighter than the main estate wine in both colour and density. This is generous in its fruit character, with a higher proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon than in recent years, giving a savoury, sappy quality and a ton of beautifully accessible Pauillac character. Hard to beat as an entry into the Lafite stable, and extremely easy to recommend—you’ll find austerity for sure, but it’s full of charm. Duhart’s new wine tourism areas have been open since spring 2023, while the new cellar has been in operation since 2021.

Le Figaro Vin

Score: 89–91. A juicy, seductive aromatic profile carried by tangy small berries. Succulent and silky on the palate, ultra-fruity, it reveals juicy bramble notes that make you want to lick your lips.

Falstaff

Falstaff

Dark ruby, opaque core, purple reflections, delicate edge brightening. Ripe plum, sweet cherry, inviting bouquet. Juicy, fruity and round, delicate tannins, sweet fruit on the finish, mineral, accessible, offering uncomplicated drinking pleasure.

Description

The precision and finesse of a Second Wine from Pauillac

The estate

In the heart of the Pauillac appellation, the Château Duhart-Milon is a perfect concentration of this appellation. This 4th Cru Classé of Pauillac was founded in the 18th century under the impetus of the Lafite family who covered Pauillac with vines at that time.

The vineyard

Château Duhart Milon oversees a 76-hectare vineyard located west of Château Lafite-Rothschild. The soils are composed of fine gravel, wind-blown sands on tertiary limestone subsoils.

The wine

Second Wine of Château Duhart-Milon, Moulin de Duhart is a Pauillac wine made from a rigorous selection of younger vines than the average of the vineyard. This wine takes its name from an old mill present on the Carruades plateau, neighbouring the Château Duhart-Milon vineyard.

Blend

Moulin de Duhart 2023 is a blend of Merlot (55%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (45%).
