Description
The estate
In the heart of Pauillac, Château Duhart-Milon is the essence of the appellation. This Pauillac Fourth Cru Classé was founded in the 18th century at the instigation of the Lafite family which covered Pauillac at that time with vines.
The vineyard
Château Duhart Milon is a Pauillac wine that stems from a vineyard of 76 hectares west of Château Lafite-Rothschild. The soils are made up of fine gravel, airy sands and subsoils of tertiary limestone.
The vintage
A mild, dry winter was punctuated at the end of January by cool, wet conditions. The temperate climate during April and the sufficient water reserves advanced a rapid development of the vineyard. The flowering recorded in June was early and even. The summer heat was mitigated by the maritime influence and by rain in August. The grapes harvested were of high quality.
Blend
Cabernet Sauvignon (73%)
Merlot (27%)
