Description
A Pomerol red wine with an alluring freshness and complexity
The estate
Located to the northwest of Pomerol, Château de Sales is a historic estate on the right bank of Bordeaux and has been owned by the same family for over five centuries. Today, the Lambert heirs and their children perpetuate the legacy of this iconic estate that produces fine Pomerol wines.
The vineyard
Comprising 47.60 hectares of vines, Château de Sales’ vineyard is the largest in the Pomerol appellation.
The vintage
A particularly cold winter preceded a spring whose warm, humid conditions favoured an early flowering period. The mild temperatures during the summer were ideal and ensured an even and rapid veraison phase. The vineyard is exceptionally healthy.
Vinification and ageing
The wine is aged in new barrels (5%) and in 1 to 3-year old barrels (95%).
The blend
Merlot (89%)
Cabernet Franc (11%).
