The refinement and richness of a Margaux wine
The estate
In the Guillemet family since 1932, Château Boyd-Cantenac has established itself as one of the most consistent benchmarks of the Margaux appellation. Classified as a 3ème Grand Cru Classé in 1855, it appeals to lovers of Bordeaux wines through a singular style, the result of expertise passed down from generation to generation.
The vineyard
The vineyard extends over 17 hectares planted in the heart of the Margaux appellation. The vines, with an average age of 38 years, are rooted in siliceous gravel soils, a terroir of choice for the expression of the great wines of the Left Bank.
Winemaking and ageing
The grapes undergo a 20-day maceration in stainless steel tanks, allowing for a fine and precise extraction. The wine is then aged for 15 months in French oak barrels, including 50% new wood, providing structure and depth. Alcohol content: 13°C.
Grape varieties
82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot.
