Description
The intensity of a refined and velvety great Red wine from Saint-Émilion
The estate
Located in the famous Saint-Émilion appellation, the Château Barde-Haut is a historic estate dating back 250 years. Patrice Lévêque and Hélène Garcin-Lévêque put all their energy into ensuring that this estate, with its enormous potential, gains a little more in quality and reputation each day.
The vineyard
The vines of Château Barde-Haut are ideally located in a natural amphitheater facing due south and overlooking the Dordogne. In the estate’s soils, one finds the limestone bedrock of Saint-Émilion as well as clay that lends strength to the wines.
Blend
Merlot (80%), cabernet franc (20%).
Characteristics and tasting advice for Château Barde-Haut 2018
Tasting
Color
Dark and deep purple hue.
Nose
Intensely aromatic, the nose bursts from the glass, revealing indulgent aromas of ripe black fruit, with notes of blackcurrant cream and blueberry jam. The wine then evolves towards spicy nuances of cinnamon and cigar box, uplifted by the freshness of aniseed and licorice notes.
Palate
The palate captivates with its lusciousness and juicy fruit, structured by firm, velvety tannins over savory fruity and spicy notes. Exceptionally fresh and delightful, the long finish lingers.
