Description
The typicity of a Pommard red wine
The estate
Founded in 1750, Chanson is one of the most famous houses in Burgundy. The estate is located in a bastion erected in the early 16th century as a watchtower with 8-meter-thick walls, nicknamed "The Tower of the Daughters" and now dedicated to the aging of the house's wines. Well known to lovers of great Burgundy wines, the Chanson estate offers confidential cuvées brilliantly revealing the expression of the greatest wine-growing villages of the Côte de Beaune.
The Chanson estate spreads over 45 hectares of vineyards planted in the most beautiful appellations of the Côte de Beaune, (Santenay, Chassagne-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet, Beaune, Savigny-Les-Beaune, Corton…), exclusively in Premiers and Grands Crus.
The vineyard
"Les Charmots" is a Pommard wine 1er Cru made from a vineyard located at the top of the hill, facing southeast, and benefiting from a terroir composed of clay-limestone soils.
Grape variety
Pinot noir (100%).
