Tasting
Nose
The intense nose reveals fragrances of crushed raspberry, Timur pepper and dried hay.
Palate
The palate seduces with the richness of its aromatic range. Herbaceous and lemony aromas, underpinned by a delicate salinity, stretch out harmoniously to a finish with lingering notes of rose petal.
The vivacity and refinement of a great vintage champagne
The estate
Founded in 1912 by the Lhôpital family, the Champagne Telmont house has been led by successive generations of visionaries with a passion for the terroirs of Champagne. In 2020, the French group Rémy Cointreau joined the Telmont adventure, driven by a shared ambition to preserve the terroirs through organic farming and to strengthen a large-scale eco-responsible project. It was also this innovative approach that prompted Leonardo DiCaprio to join Telmont as a shareholder. Meanwhile, Bertrand Lhôpital remains cellar master and vineyard manager, thus guaranteeing the quality of a family expertise spanning more than a century.
The vineyard
Telmont's vineyard covers 24.5 hectares in Damery, near Épernay in Champagne. Since 2017, part of Telmont's plots have been certified organic. In 2022, half of the vineyard was farmed organically.
Vinification and ageing
Vinothèque follows the traditional Champagne winemaking process. Vinification takes place in oak foudres and vats. Bottling for the second fermentation took place in 2014, after which the champagne aged for 8 years before being disgorged in 2022. No malolactic fermentation was carried out.
This Extra Brut champagne has a dosage of 2.5 g/litre.
Blend
This 2013 vintage champagne is a blend of Pinot Meunier (43%), Pinot Noir (31%) and Chardonnay (26%).
