Around the small town of Vittoria on the island of Sicily in Italy lies the territory of the DOCG Cerasuolo di Vittoria. It was declared DOCG in 2005. However, the wines of this appellation have been recognised for their exceptional quality for several centuries.

The soil of this region of Sicily is known for its fertility. The vines alternate with centuries-old olive groves and are grown on sandy soils ideal for the native grape varieties that make up the appellation's distinctive wines.

Nero d'Avola is the most important grape variety in Sicilian viticulture, originally from Syracuse, and is very present in the DOCG Cerasuolo di Vittoria appellation. It produces structured, colourful wines with great ageing potential. Frappato is a variety from the area around Vittoria. It gives the wine little colour but great structure and finesse.
