Description
Characteristics and Tasting Notes of the Bodegas Vionta Albariño Sobre Lias 2025
Tasting Notes
Appearance
The colour reveals a brilliant yellow hue, enhanced by delicate greenish highlights and a perfectly crystalline appearance.
Nose
Displaying beautiful intensity, the aromatic bouquet opens with refreshing citrus notes. With aeration, it reveals a rich palette of tropical fruits such as pineapple, kiwi and banana, complemented by touches of stone fruit and subtle floral and herbaceous nuances.
Palate
The attack is fresh and vibrant, carried by perfectly balanced acidity. Ageing on the lees gives this white wine a smooth, creamy texture and a generous volume. The finish stands out for its persistent aromatic length, punctuated by an elegant, light bitterness.
Food and Wine Pairings
This white wine pairs wonderfully with seafood, such as fresh shellfish, ceviche or sushi. It also beautifully accompanies Asian cuisine, Galician-style octopus, empanadas, grilled poultry, and soft regional cheeses.
Serving and Cellaring
To fully enjoy the Albariño Sobre Lias 2025, it is recommended to serve it chilled, at an ideal temperature between 8 and 10°C.
The Elegance and Atlantic Freshness of a White Wine from Rías Baixas
The Estate
Founded in 2013 in Meaño, at the heart of Galicia, the Bodegas Vionta estate is the result of the commitment of the Ferrer family, now part of the Henkell Freixenet group. Driven by Pedro Ferrer's vision, this contemporary estate has swiftly established itself as a key reference. Skilfully blending local winemaking tradition with oenological modernity, the estate stands out for its deep Atlantic character and its mastery of lees ageing, offering vibrant, saline white wines that celebrate the authenticity of their terroir.
The Vineyard
The grapes come from vines over fifteen years old, located in the historic Val do Salnés sub-zone, within the Rías Baixas appellation. This terroir enjoys a humid Atlantic climate, strongly influenced by the ocean and the Ría de Arousa. The predominantly sandy soils encourage slow berry ripening, helping to preserve natural acidity and bring out a characteristic saline signature. The vineyard is carefully managed, favouring manual harvesting in small crates at optimal ripeness.
Winemaking and Ageing
After rigorous sorting, alcoholic fermentation of the Albariño Sobre Lias 2025 takes place in stainless steel tanks at a strictly controlled temperature not exceeding 15°C, using selected yeasts to enhance aromatic complexity. The wine then undergoes ageing on fine lees for approximately four months, giving it volume and smoothness. Finally, clarification, cold stabilisation and sterile filtration are carried out before bottling.
