Blended with 93 % of Cabernet Sauvignon and 7 % of Merlot, Petit Mouton 2014 has a deep and dense purple color. The highly complex, full and varied nose reveals ripe red fruit aromas mingled with succulent cocoa and vanilla, rounded off by slightly toasted, smoky notes combined with youthful oak. The attack of this Pauillac is succulent, lush and substantial, at once dense and silky, rounded, elegant tannins underpin a generous, full-bodied and well-balanced palate. The finish of second wine from chateau Mouton-Rothschild is straight as an arrow, deep and radiant.
Wine Advocate-Parker :
The 2014 Le Petit Mouton has quite a sophisticated bouquet with black fruit, black truffle, pencil box and a light marine influence. The palate is medium-bodied with a graphite-driven entry, the acidity very well judged, gently building towards an elegant, supple finish that seems to caress the mouth. These days, Le Petit Mouton is equal to many Grand Vin in Pauillacùa remarkable melioration over the last decade.
