A Fifty-Year-Old Duriense Single Harvest Porto
Taylor's, historic Porto house since 1692
Founded in 1692, Taylor's remains an emblematic family-owned house in the Douro, the wine region of northern Portugal. This historic estate encompasses three A-listed quintas in the Douro Valley: Quinta de Vargellas, Quinta de Terra Feita and Quinta do Junco. Specializing in the creation of exceptional Portos, Taylor's is distinguished by its Single Harvest Ports, crafted from a single harvest and aged fifty years in oak casks before release. The Taylor family sustains a recognizable house style, blending centuries-old tradition with unwavering excellence, placing the brand among the absolute benchmarks of prestige Porto.
Very Old Single Harvest Port 1975, the ninth edition of a limited series
The Very Old Single Harvest Port 1975 represents the ninth edition of this exceptional series in which Taylor's annually releases Portos produced fifty years earlier. From the 1975 vintage, this wine benefited from particular climatic conditions: after a wet winter followed by a prolonged dry summer, providential rains at the end of September enabled full grape maturation. Harvesting began on October 6 with perfectly ripe fruit.
This Single Harvest Porto was aged in seasoned oak casks for five decades, developing its unique aromatic complexity. Unlike Vintage Ports, this cuvée does not produce sediment and requires no decanting. Its limited production and exceptional age make it a collectible item prized by enthusiasts of exceptional Portos.
