A Douro Vintage Port characterized by lusciousness and persistence
Taylor's, three centuries of excellence in the Duriense
Founded in 1692, Taylor's is one of the oldest Porto houses in the Duriense. Owner of the prestigious Quinta de Vargellas and Quinta de Terra Feita in the Douro Valley, Taylor's stands out for its traditional winemaking methods and extended aging. The House excels particularly in the production of exceptional Vintage Ports, renowned for their outstanding aging potential and aromatic complexity, embodying the excellence of the Duriense terroir for over three centuries.
Terra Feita, the expression of an exceptional vintage
The Terra Feita Vintage Port 2019 comes from a remarkable growing season marked by an early budburst on March 9, followed by a drier and cooler growth period than average. April rains provided the necessary moisture, while veraison took place in mid-July under optimal conditions. Harvesting began on September 4 in the eastern Douro and on September 14 in Pinhão, yielding perfectly healthy grapes with yields 10% below the ten-year average.
This natural yield reduction concentrated the aromas and intensified the color, giving rise to a porto with exceptional characteristics. This cuvée expresses the sumptuous opulence and earthy character typical of this vineyard, with a particularly pronounced sensual dimension. Taylor's traditional winemaking preserves the integrity of the fruit while developing the tannic structure necessary for prolonged aging.
