Description

Characteristics and tasting advice for the Parcellaire #1 "Canne d'Or" 2016

Tasting

Appearance
With an elegant amber hue, this rum reveals golden and coppery highlights.

Nose
The nose opens with indulgent aromas of candied fruits and dates, quickly joined by notes of sweet spices such as vanilla and cinnamon. With aeration, touches of blond tobacco and precious woods add further complexity to the bouquet.

Palate
On the palate, the attack is broad and silky. Flavors of ripe exotic fruits blend harmoniously with nuances of honey, caramel, and roasted coffee. The structure is balanced, carried by fine, well-integrated oak. The finish is long, persistent, and warming, leaving a pleasant spicy sensation.

Food and wine pairings
This rum will pair perfectly with a square of dark chocolate, an exotic fruit dessert, or a cigar with character.

Serving and cellaring
To fully appreciate all the complexity of this rum, it is recommended to enjoy it neat, at room temperature, in a tulip glass.

A single-plot, authentic Rhum Agricole from Martinique

Habitation Saint-Étienne, a historic distillery from Martinique
Located in the heart of Martinique, Habitation Saint-Étienne (HSE) is a historic distillery founded in the 19th century. Nestled in lush greenery in Gros-Morne, it perpetuates ancestral know-how while constantly innovating. Renowned for its outstanding agricole rums, the brand stands out for its mastery of the art of aging and its rigorous single-plot selections, showcasing the unique richness of its terroir.

A rum expressing the character of an exceptional terroir
This rum is the result of a precise single-plot approach. The R570 sugarcane variety, nicknamed "Canne d'Or", is cultivated on the estate’s "Verger" and "Coulon" plots. These distinctive volcanic terroirs give the raw material a singular identity, marked by great aromatic finesse. After careful fermentation and distillation, this rum benefited from aging in oak barrels. This time in wood allowed it to develop its amber color and enrich its aromatic palette, marrying the freshness of the cane with the warm notes imparted by aging.
