Penfolds : Magill Estate Shiraz 2011

Named after the vineyard from which it is produced, the Magill Estate of Penfolds is a pure Syrah wine aged for 14 months in oak barrels. The colour of this 2011 vintage is of a beautiful dark red with purple hues. The nose displays fragrances of violet, lavender, musk and even ginger, cinnamon and lemon. After a slight aeration, flavours of nuts, chocolate and coal appear for our greatest delight. One can find this complexity back again on the palate, with present but melted oak, velvety but firm tannins and a crisp yet well mastered acidity.
