Decanter

Lovely vibrancy and purity, with clear etched flavours of pear, peach and lemon curd, cloaked in fig leaf, linden and celery tops. Orange peel and clementine juice add a subtle zesty lift, sustaining the rich, persistent yet energetic palate. Great balance between concentration and verve.

Alison Napjus

A lovely, off-dry style, with cardamom, honeysuckle and white chocolate aromatics lacing the bright display of tangerine granita, passion fruit coulis, lime pith and biscuit flavors. Mouthwatering acidity and a silky texture carry the expressive profile on the clean-cut finish. Furmint, Sárga Muskotály and Zéta. Drink now through 2036. 3,230 cases made, 486 cases imported.

Generous yet refreshing, with dried pineapple and mangoes on the nose. Medium-bodied, sweet, juicy and balanced, with acidity keeping the tropical richness in check. Clean and approachable finish. Drink now.

The vivacity and richness of a great Tokaji wine

The property

Oremus is one of those estates that, by merging with the illustrious Spanish estate Vega Sicilia, have embraced and magnified its philosophy. Thus, in this prestigious Hungarian vineyard, the continuous search for excellence, harmony with nature, as well as rigor are the order of the day. The prestige of the vineyard dates back to the 1630s, when Maté Szepsi Lacko made the first "Tokaj run-off wine" from grapes grown in the Oremus vineyard. He then offered it to the wife of the Prince of Transylvania, Princess Susana Lorántffy, to thank her for her delicate attentions towards the inhabitants of Tokaj. A century later, Oremus is already established as one of the most renowned estates in the world.

The vineyard

The 2023 Tokaji Late Harvest comes from vines that are on average 22 years old, planted on clay soil.

The wine

The sweetness of this Tokaj wine is 113 g/liter.

Vinification and aging

The grapes are harvested several times by hand. Indeed, this cuvée is made from at least 50% botrytised bunches. Destemming then maceration for 4 to 12 hours before pressing. Then, the fermentation is carried out in stainless steel tanks for 15 to 25 days. The wine is then aged in Hungarian oak barrels for two months. Finally, it is refined in the bottle for an additional six months.

Blend

Furmint, sárgamuskotály, hárslevelű
