Description
Characteristics and Tasting Tips for Gérard Bertrand Chouchou 2025
Tasting
Colour
The Chouchou 2025 shows a ruby colour with brilliant highlights, a sign of a measured extraction that heralds a fresh, mouth-watering style.
Nose
The nose opens with an intensely fruity palette, blending wild strawberry, fresh cherry and blackberry, enhanced by delicate balsamic nuances and a hint of mandarin.
Palate
The palate charms with its lightness and silky texture. The tannins, soft and well integrated, leave all the space for the fruit to express itself, while a touch of spice from the Syrah completes this tender, thirst-quenching ensemble.
Food and Wine Pairing
This wine is ideal for convivial occasions: it pairs well with fresh salads, tapas, charcuterie or Mediterranean and Italian cuisine. It can also be enjoyed with grilled meats and vegetables, in a resolutely summery spirit.
Serving and Cellaring
The Chouchou 2025 is best served well chilled, between 10 and 12°C, in the manner of a rosé or a light white. It is recommended to drink it young, in order to fully enjoy its freshness and vibrant fruit.

The Estate
Founded by Gérard Bertrand, the brand bearing his name was made official in 1992, following the takeover of the family estate. Now run by Gérard Bertrand himself, the group spans 930 hectares farmed biodynamically in Occitanie, spread across 17 châteaux and estates. Recognised as one of the world's largest producers of biodynamic wines, Gérard Bertrand combines family heritage, environmental commitment and the Mediterranean art of living.
The Vineyard
Classified as Vin de France, this wine is made from organically grown grapes from high-altitude terroirs. These plots, set in hilly landscapes, enjoy a cooler climate than the coastal plains, conducive to gradual ripening and to preserving the aromatic freshness of the berries.
Vinification and Ageing
The vinification of this cuvée begins with a short maceration of the Grenache in tanks, designed to extract colour and aromas without accentuating the tannins. Alcoholic fermentation takes place at controlled temperature, followed by malolactic fermentation, which brings roundness and suppleness. The wine is then clarified and aged for three months in tanks, without any oak, in order to preserve the purity of its fruit.
Grape Varieties
This cuvée is made from a blend of Grenache, Syrah and Cinsault.
