The Cloudy Bay estate was founded by David Hohnen in 1985 on the Marlborough lands of New Zealand. Set in a breathtakingly beautiful landscape between the Pacific Ocean and the Richmond Range, Cloudy Bay is located at the entrance to the bay of the same name. A true pioneer, the New Zealand estate was one of the first to establish itself on the Marlborough terroir and now boasts over 310 hectares of vines. The vineyard is resolutely committed to protecting the environment by integrating good practices, both in the vineyard and in the cellar. In the space of three decades, Cloudy Bay has established itself as a benchmark for New World wines.
This New Zealand wine comes from vineyards in the heart of Marlborough's iconic Wairau Valley. The gravelly, stony soils and sunny, dry climate provide the ideal conditions for producing sublime Sauvignon Blancs.
Winemaking and ageing
Fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats and oak barrels (only 5%). It is partly triggered by the influence of indigenous yeasts, reflecting the unique character of the Cloudy Bay terroir.
Sauvignon Blanc (100%)
The zesty and vibrant nose opens on notes of juicy citrus fruit and lime, enhanced by a subtle hint of white nectarine and passionfruit.
The palate is mouth-watering, with passionfruit and citrus fruit mingling with tropical fruit notes of peach and guava, delicately balanced by saline notes.
