Description
A mineral and gourmet Provence rosé wine
The estate
With its origins dating back more than two thousand years, Château Romanin was successively a high spiritual place for the Greeks, the Gauls and the Christians.
Located at the gateway to Les Baux-de-Provence, Château Romanin has belonged since 2006 to the Charmolüe family, former owners of Château Montrose, Second Grand Cru Classé of Saint-Estèphe.
The vineyard
Located on the northern slopes of the Alpilles mountains, the 58 hectares of vines are spread across a sandy limestone to sandy-limono-clay soil. The vineyards of the Les Baux de Provence appellation are managed biodynamically and produce wines that are vinified and aged in an underground cellar covered with planted earth, thus ensuring harmony between the cultivation of the vines and the work in the cellar.
Winemaking and ageing
After manual harvesting, the grapes are placed in a cold room (10°C) for 24 hours. After settling, the alcoholic fermentation is carried out in stainless steel tanks, as is the ageing on fine lees for about 6 months with regular stirring of the lees.
Blend
Château Romanin rosé 2020 is a blend of Grenache (60%), Cabernet Sauvignon (16%), Syrah (15%) and Mourvèdre (9%).
