Description
The silkiness and freshness of a great Pomerol wine
The estate
Located in the very heart of Libourne, Château Mazeyres is an iconic estate of the Pomerol appellation, on the right bank of Bordeaux. The estate boasts ancient origins, dating back to Roman times. Since 1992, Alain Moueix has skillfully and passionately managed Château Mazeyres, bringing his viticultural expertise and know-how.
The vineyard
The vineyard of Château Mazeyres spans 23.82 hectares at the heart of the Pomerol appellation in an exceptional location. The vines have been cultivated biodynamically since 2012, with Biodyvin certification by Ecocert obtained in 2018. The vineyard of Château Mazeyres is situated on the western and southern terraces of the appellation, with three distinct types of terroir present. The soils include fine clay gravels, clay sands, and gravelly-clay sands. The unique nature of these soils gives Château Mazeyres wines their singular personality and a characteristically velvety mouthfeel.
Blend
