A rich and structured Margaux red wine

The producer

In the heart of the Margaux appellation, on the left bank of Bordeaux, stands Château Marquis de Terme. The vineyard dates back to the 15th century but was given its current name in the 18th century, when the Marquis de Terme took over the estate.The Sénéclauze family has owned this Margaux Grand Cru since 1935.

The vineyard

Château Marquis de Terme’s 40-hectare vineyard lies on deep gravel soils, typical of the Margaux appellation, and is made up of thick quartz and quartzite. Some parcels are more clayey than others. The vineyard is managed on a plot by plot basis and has received the High Environmental Value 3 certification.

The vintage

Although the 2017 vintage will be remembered due to the frost that hit the Bordeaux wine region at the end of April, it shows the excellent quality achieved by Marquis de Terme during this challenging vintage.

The blend

This Château Marquis de Terme 2017 comprises a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot.

The tasting

Nose

Concentrated and with a beautiful fruit maturity, the bouquet reveals notes of strawberries and plums, underlined by smoky notes reminiscent of the delicate scents of tea.

Palate

On the palate, the wine expresses beautiful acidity and well-balanced tannins. Massive and full-bodied, this Margaux wine seduces by its structure, its complexity and its finesse.
