Description
A great Pomerol wine combining structure and refinement
The estate
Founded in the mid-1950s, Château La Violette is a true gem of the Bordeaux region. Acquired in 2006 by Catherine Péré-Vergé, the estate underwent a spectacular transformation to become a highly sought-after signature. Today, her son Henri Parent heads the property, continuing this pursuit of excellence. With its tiny 1.68-hectare vineyard, of which 1.26 hectares are in production, this micro-estate stands out for wines of great rarity.
The vineyard
Ideally located on the heights of the famous Pomerol plateau, the vineyard benefits from a privileged terroir. The vines, averaging 30 years of age, thrive on fine gravel soils.
Winemaking and ageing
Following plot-by-plot hand harvesting, the berries are meticulously sorted and then destemmed by hand. A long pre-fermentation cold maceration of approximately fifteen to twenty days is carried out. Malolactic fermentation, as well as ageing for around fourteen months, takes place entirely in new French oak barrels.
Grape variety
Château La Violette 2025 is made from 100% Merlot.
