Description
Two chapters of the same Pauillac vintage brought together in a limited-edition duo box set
The estate
Fifth Grand Cru Classé in the 1855 Official Classification, Château Haut-Batailley is a benchmark of the Pauillac appellation. Its name is derived from the word “battle,” in memory of the clashes said to have taken place on the estate at the end of the Hundred Years’ War, in the 15th century.
Since 2017, Château Haut-Batailley has been run by the Cazes family, who have continued the work begun by the Borie family in 1930 and have perpetuated the style and quality of this essential Médoc cru, on the Left Bank of the Bordeaux region.
The vineyard
A benchmark among the great wines of Pauillac, Château Haut-Batailley oversees a terroir of around forty hectares, including 22 hectares of vines. Averaging 35 years of age, this vineyard in the southern part of the appellation lies on soils composed of Garonne gravel and clay.
A portable tasting case offered in a limited edition
Château Haut-Batailley unveils a new signature piece with “Nomade”, a portable tasting case designed in collaboration with Atelier Dahu, an exceptional Bordeaux leather artisan. Conceived by Vincent Jacquinot, the bespoke case combines functionality and refinement: leathers from French tanneries, warm hues, hot stamping, wax-finished edges, precisely adjusted straps, and meticulous assembly.
Designed to accompany the 2019 vintage, “Nomade de Haut-Batailley” brings together the essential service accessories:
1 bottle of Château Haut-Batailley 2019
1 two-prong corkscrew engraved “Château Haut-Batailley”
2 drop-stops, in a branded leather pouch
Open, serve, taste: every gesture becomes a natural and elegant ritual, wherever you may be.
The second piece in a growing collection, “Nomade” extends the wine experience beyond the bottle and expresses the Haut-Batailley spirit in an object that is practical, aesthetic, and a companion for everyday life.
Winemaking and aging
Aged 16 months in French oak barrels, 60% new, and crafted from a blend of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon and 24% Merlot, Haut-Batailley 2019 combines elegance with pure fruit expression.
