Château des Jacques : Moulin-à-Vent 2022

Round and mouthcoating, with a tug of tar and earth behind red currant and wild herbs. Hints of mocha and espresso add depth, with mesquite smoke hovering throughout. There’s nice length to the salty finish. Drink now through 2029. 2,000 cases imported.

Minerally and savory Moulin-à-Vent showing wet stone, bark, strawberry and rosemary aromas. It’s medium-bodied, fresh and elegant with fine-grained tannins. Excellent length. Drink or hold.

The 2022 Moulin-à-Vent has a sapid, marine-tinged bouquet, with hints of shucked oyster shell infusing the dark berry fruit. Fine delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly furry tannins, spicier than the Morgon, with a little more edginess and pepperiness on the finish. Very fine.

The blending work delivers a complete style, with the richness and dimension of Moulin-à-Vent. Still slightly tight, you can sense precise tannins that lengthen the full, enveloped mouthfeel.
