The elegance and power of a great Pauillac wine by Château d'Armailhac

The Estate

Located in the renowned region of Bordeaux, the estate saw its first vines planted in 1750 by the Armailhacq family. Classified as a Fifth Growth in 1855, it was acquired in 1933 by Baron Philippe de Rothschild, before reclaiming its historic name of Château d'Armailhac in 1989. Today, this prestigious property is managed by Camille Sereys de Rothschild, Philippe Sereys de Rothschild, and Julien de Beaumarchais de Rothschild. Under the technical direction of Lucie Lauilhe, the estate continues to shine through its excellence and respect for the terroir.

The Vineyard

Spanning 80 hectares in the heart of the Pauillac appellation, this exceptional terroir rests on four distinct gravel rises. The soils consist of light, deep gravels over a clay-sandy and limestone subsoil, ensuring optimal drainage. The vines, averaging 40 years of age, benefit from ideal southern exposure and tailored, environmentally respectful viticulture, allowing each grape variety to fully express its potential.

The Vintage

The year 2025 began with a mild and dry winter, encouraging early bud break on April 2. Spring was marked by contrasts, with a rainy April followed by a uniform flowering between May 14 and 27. The summer period, hot and dry, accelerated ripening during veraison (from July 10 to August 4), concentrating the berries. Finally, a cooler and wetter end of August refined the balance of the grapes. The early harvest took place from September 9 to 20 under excellent sanitary conditions, although yields were affected by the lack of water.

Winemaking and Aging

The grapes benefit from modern facilities thanks to an eco-responsible winery completed in 2021. The production of Château d'Armailhac 2025 continues with meticulous aging for 18 months, carried out with 50% new oak barrels, in order to refine the structure and subtly integrate the woody aromas.

Grape Varieties

Château d'Armailhac 2025 is a blend of 67% cabernet sauvignon, 21% merlot, 10% cabernet franc, and 2% petit verdot.
