Vinum

Much clearer and more focused than in previous years, red-fruit aromas dominate the bouquet, with a delicate herbal note and mineral undertones; on the palate it is straightforward and fresh, the pronounced St-Estèphe tannins provide grip, plenty of verve, pleasant length, and a peppery-spicy, blood-orange finish. An archetype of its appellation.

Decanter

Cabernet aromas, blackcurrant leaf, cedar and dark chocolate. Bright acidity gives lift straight away with quite massy tannins that fill the mouth. They’re not too dry, but plentiful, with both plushness and coolness. A touch of cedar and green notes on the finish, which is a bit distracting, but overall not bad at all. A little light on the finish, losing some momentum. Chalky, mineral ending too. 2% Cabernet Franc completes the blend. Ageing in barrels with 20% new oak. pH 3.63.

Flowers, red currants, and a touch of spice pop in the nose. On the palate, the wine is forward, soft, and energetic. There is freshness in the fruits, which are juicy, crisp, and vibrant in the mid-palate and in the finish. This is the second vintage from the team of Cos d'Estournel, and the first with Axel Marchal as their consultant. The wine blends 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Merlot, 10% Petit Verdot, and 2% Cabernet Franc. 12.6% ABV. Drink from 2027-2040. 91-93 points

Le Figaro Vin

Power, depth and juicy fruit mark a lovely warm, playful, peppery nose. Silky and limpid, the palate is softer and more supple, with a smoky edge.

A lively red wine from Saint-Estèphe with a beautiful velvety texture
