Vinum

Fruity, juicy and smooth, slender, with depth and density.

Decanter

The fruit's a bit tight and lean this year from this highly regarded château. Needs to open up.

James Suckling

This delivers a stylish impression from the get-go with a really nicely focused dark berry nose and hints of fresh pastry. The palate has a smooth array of bright blackberry and plum fruits with smoothly cut tannins that layer up nice and even. Classy. Best from 2022.

Antonio Galloni

The 2015 Chasse-Spleen is a wine of finesse and grace. Floral notes, spice, leather and mint are beautifully delineated in this attractive, midweight wine. All the elements are very nicely balanced. Bright, saline notes extend the finish. Readers who appreciate the finer side of Bordeaux will flip out over the 2015.

Light, bright and tight, with crispness to the cassis and tartness in the cranberry, the wine is lean and shows more freshness than fruit.

The 2015 Château Chasse-Spleen is an elegant 2015 that has a complex, nuanced, and endearing style. Giving up notes of black cherry and strawberry fruits as well as lots of lavender, leafy herbs, and floral nuances, it shines more for its elegance and nuance than power and richness. It’s a beautiful wine to drink over the coming decade.

Weinwisser

Dark garnet, fairly dense in the middle, with a ruby rim. Floral bouquet with sour cherry notes, a touch of pink pepper, and medium intensity. On the palate, light for the vintage, but the tannins match the body. A quite successful, good Chasse-Spleen. Unfortunately, there are cheaper alternatives in the same class.

René Gabriel

Dark garnet, fairly dense in the middle, ruby rim. Floral bouquet with notes of morello cherry, a touch of pink pepper, medium intensity. On the palate, light for the vintage, but the tannins match the body, making this, for once, a more than merely good Chasse-Spleen. Unfortunately, there are cheaper alternatives in the same class.

Herbs, medium-intensity bouquet, blueberries, freshly cut wood, smoke. Light, classic palate with a firm core structure, light fruit, good tannins, medium aromatics, dry finish. 16/20 2022 - 2034

La RVF

Silky and smooth, the 2015 is already very enjoyable, yet built to age beautifully. Its lace-like tannins will delight lovers of the cru.

Le Figaro Vin

The colour is purple, the nose is slightly vegetal. The wine is light with good mid-palate density, finishing with bell pepper notes.

Yves Beck

Light garnet red. Elegant, delicate bouquet. Notes of anise and licorice. On the palate, the wine is balanced, with compact tannins in line with the structure. This wine is pleasant, approachable, and nevertheless convincing in its ability to age. Note that, in any case, it will be drunk before then.

Jean-Marc Quarin

Jean-Marc Quarin

An austere wine, lacking brightness and flavor. Medium length.

Roger Voss

92–94. Barrel Sample. The pure red-fruit flavors of this wine shoot through the firm tannins to give freshness while allowing plenty of space for the development of the tannins. It is a wine that shows both the fruit and the structure of the vintage.

Description

2015 Chasse-Spleen from the Moulis appellation is more masculine than in previous years. However, the wine is still very charming. The nose reveals a very light toasted character - which will fade while aging - before giving way to elegant black fruit and balsamic notes. The wine gradually settles in the mouth to reveal a beautiful intensity, definite wood characteristics. Somewhat austere, the wine still displays lovely tangy aromas of wild strawberry. The wine has a good length, with a very nice structure. Time will be on the side of Chasse-Slpeen 2015, and this will make beautiful wine for laying down.
