The 2008 vintage of Volnay Premier Cru Clos D'Audignac of Domaine de la Pousse d'Or comes from a year said "miraculous". Indeed, if the climatic conditions were contrasted and complicated to handle, the grapes slowly reached an optimum ripeness. The sorting of the berries was quite severe and guarantees the quality of the production. The 2008 Volnay Premier Cru Clos D'Audignac of Domaine de la Pousse d'Or is a 100% Pinot Noir, aged on lees in oak barrels (20% of new barrels) for 15 months. It is complex on the nose with vanilla notes. The palate is complex as well, rich and thick.
Wine Advocate-Parker :
Smoky, sweet scents of machine oil mingled with blond tobacco and fresh black fruits rise from the glass of Pousse d'Or 2008 Volnay Clos d'Audignac, which offers juicy satisfaction and tender richness of plum and blackberry pungently tinged with peat and tobacco. Cinnamon, black pepper, and chalk dust add stimulation and additional complexity in a satisfyingly long finish.
