2007 Margaux 2e Cru Classe
The 2007 Chateau Rauzan-Segla is a true success, considering it was born in a rather challenging growing season. This Margaux 2e cru Classe from Bordeaux reveals a dark ruby hue. Commanding fruit marks the nose which distils beautiful scents of cherry, blackberry, flowers, pepper, and fumet. The palate is both supple and structured, yet very balanced. Well-integrated tannins lead to a lovely finish with refreshing and very tasty hints of liquorice.
Wine Advocate-Parker :
Tasted at BI Wine & Spirits' 10-Years-On tasting, the 2007 Rauzan-Segla (Rausan-Segla) has a wonderful bouquet of dark red brambly fruit, sandalwood, sage and clovesùaromatics that convey a sense of warmth and homeliness. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly grainy tannin on the entry; there is truffle-infused black fruit, sea salt and a healthy pinch of spice, leading to a refined, almost Pomerol-like finish. The acidity feels a little lower than other coeval vintages, affording it a sense of approachability, almost easy-drinking in nature. Deliciousùthat sums this Margaux up in a word. Tasted February 2017.
