The Blanc de Blanc 2007 from Alfred Gratien is 100% Chardonnay, singularly representing the nobility and the typical characteristics of the Alfred Gratien Champagnes. In the glass this champagne presents a clear golden robe with a delicate and persistent fizz. The nose is lively and structured, with notes of toasty vanilla yielding to aromas of sparkling citrus. The palate is also lively and fresh, recalling the initial citrus fragrances. The body is supported by notes of brioche and buttered toast. The Cuvée Blanc de Blanc 2007 from Champagne Alfred Gratien is a lovely wine that will delight Champagne lovers with its complexity and elegance.
Wine Advocate-Parker :
Gratien's 2007 Brut Blanc de Blancs is one of the more focused wines in the lineup. Lemon, white flowers, pastry and crushed rocks are all woven together in the glass. Deceptively medium in body, the 2007 fleshes out nicely in the glass, showing considerable depth and richness, while never losing its essential drive and pure focus. This is a terrific effort for the year. Disgorged November 2010. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2017.
