Jean-Luc Colombo is passionate about the Cornas appellation and its old Syrah vines that made his reputation. The terraced parcels overlooking the Rhone Valley benefit from the granite rich soil, facing the rising sun in the East. The 2012 Terre Brulee exhibits a bold black hue. The nose exudes red and black fruits aromas: cassis, blackberries, as well as hints of chocolate and mild spices. The rich, smooth palate offers tannins marked by youth, and a lovely persistent, warm finish.
Wine Advocate-Parker :
the 2012 Cornas les Terres Brulees is a soft, sexy and forward effort that gives up lots of truffle, wild herb, peppered meat and sweet darker styled fruit. It's a hedonistic, well-made Cornas to drink over the coming decade.
