The estate
For over twenty years, the exceptional winegrower, Xavier Vignon, has been regarded as one of the finest experts in the Southern Rhône Valley. After studying oenology in Montpellier, Xavier Vignon travelled around the vineyards in France and Australia. Smitten by the Rhône Valley, he established an oenology laboratory in 1996 in the Vaucluse. Since 2016, Xavier Vignon has devoted himself fully to the creation of his own wines. A lover of fine terroirs and grape varieties, Xavier Vignon vinifies and blends vintages that stand out due to their unique style.
The wine
Since 2020, Xavier Vignon has been working alongside the Fondation de la Mer in order to protect the maritime world. As part of this partnership, Xavier Vignon is unveiling two wines (one red and one rosé) that are produced using organic farming practices. These wines are adorned with a label designed by the French designer, Ines de la Fressange. For each bottle purchased, 1€ will be donated to the Fondation de la Mer.
This "Une Bouteille à la Mer Rosé Édition Ines de la Fressange" wine by Xavier Vignon is a Côtes du Rhône 2021 wine that stems from vineyards located in the Vaucluse and the north of the Gard. The vineyard rests on clay and gravel hillsides and plateaus.
Vinification and ageing
This rosé wine comprises four grape varieties which are co-fermented. 100% direct pressing. The early bottling (January 2022) is crucial as it preserves the aromas and freshness of the fruit.
