Bin 8 Cabernet Shiraz 2014 from Penfolds : an Australian red wine with mature and round tannins

Bin 8 Cabernet Shiraz from Penfolds is a red wine produced in Australia on various vineyards and in several appellations (McLaren ValeBarossa ValleyWrattonbullyPadthawayCoonawarra). The wine is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels (6% of which are new) and American (6% in new barrels). The Bin 8 Cabernet Shiraz 2014 from Penfolds consists of a blend of 52% Cabernet Sauvignon and 48% Shiraz.

The Bin 8 Cabernet Shiraz 2014 from Penfolds has a deep garnet red colour, developing aromas of blackberries and plums on the nose, which blend with more floral (purple, iris) and vanilla notes, along with hints of smoked roast beef. The wine is full-bodied and offers flavours of black fruit and white chocolate cream. The tannins are ripe and round, well framed by ageing in oak and with a complementary acidity.
