2007 Hermitage from the Rhone Valley

The La Chapelle cuvee gets its name from the small Saint Christophe chapel that overlooks the terraced vineyard of Domaines Paul Jaboulet-Aîné. This 2007 La Chapelle was made from old vines of Syrah, planted on rich and varied soils from the Hermitage appellation. It is a complex wine that bears the richness of its different exceptional terroirs. The 2007 La Chapelle from Paul Jaboutlet-Aîné displays a deep and bright red colour. On the nose, the wine gives off strong blackcurrant and spices aromas. The palate is pleasant with soft and silky tannins. The distinguished finish is persistent

    Wine Advocate-Parker :
Frey's first vintage with full control, the ruby-colored 2007 Hermitage la Chapelle offers a forward, supple and sexy feel to go with plenty of cassis, black raspberry, jam-covered toast, honeysuckle and vanilla bean. Medium to full-bodied, open knit and ready to go, it shows the charming nature of the vintage and should be drunk up over the coming decade or so. Comparing the 2006 and 2007 to subsequent vintages where Frey had more and more control over the farming are night and day.
